Client: Sea Shocks Boat Mats
Project Goals
- Better explain what Sea Shocks are and what they do to online customers.
- Boost company image by creating a commercial for them to use at trade shows, while keeping cost well below what it would take to make a live action commercial.

Description:
- 2MORO's staff met with interested customer to explore possible ways to better convey the benefits of Sea Shocks to online customers. It was agreed that if customer's had to rely on reading text online to understand what the product really does, the true benefits would not be conveyed. A commercial approach was decided upon.
- 2MORO developed scripts and storyboards for the 3D animation to be built upon. Edits took place between the customer and 2MORO until a final script was agreed upon.
- 2MORO recorded narration files to be used in commercial, developed characters to portray boat captains and used 3D software to create shots of boats, characters and the product itself that would best illustrate its benefits.
- Original music & sound effects were created in house
- Animations and special effects were rendered for HD display and then re-composited for streaming flash delivery. A DVD was created and delivered to the client for use at boating trade shows.
- Online version was delivered, employing some innovations with Flash Actionscript to detect a user's bandwidth capabilities and deliver the video without waiting time to those users that could handle it. An alternative "pre-loader" was created for users with low bandwidth that highlights product benefits in a low-bandwidth manner until the full movie is loaded into the user cache. This is all custom, innovative technology developed in house.

- 2MORO delivers one of the world's first "online commercials".
- Online and telephone sales of Sea Shocks product boosted.
- Sea Shocks wins "Most Innovative New Product of 2004" at a major boating trade show, in part because of the plasma display highlighting product benefits and drawing attention to this company's booth.
- Online users with broadband experience no "loading" time for a 90 second multimedia piece.
